Chocolate cycle route along the river IJssel
Zutphen, Bronkhorst, Vierakker
Hop on your bike at one of the Tourist Transfer Points (TOP) and be enchanted by the tasteful surroundings. A route that is not only a feast for the eyes, but also for your taste buds... You traverse the atmospheric city of Zutphen, rich in history and sights. As you make your way towards the outskirts of Zutphen, there comes the first chocolate highlight of this route. A genuine Chocolate and Arretjescake factory! Take a look inside and see for yourself how Magdalena's master chocolatiers know how to make the tastiest creations. Twice you will cross the IJssel river on its width, after which you will cycle past beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages. Or towns, because the smallest town in the Netherlands is also on the route. Bronkhorst consists of a church, with houses and city farms built around it. You can still see this structure very well in the cosy centre. In the middle of this small town, you will find your next chocolate moment. An old-fashioned barn now houses a beautiful shop full of handmade chocolates, Italian ice cream and all kinds of delicacies from the region. And why not take a box of chocolates home with you?
