Museum cycle route in the Achterhoek
Borculo, Ruurlo
The fine combination of cycling through nature and past surprising museums makes this a great day out. In Borculo, visit the Fire Museum or the Crystal Museum. Both museums may not be common knowledge, but that is why they are so much fun to visit. You will be amazed at how much beauty and news you will find in these museums. At the Fire Brigade Museum, for instance, you will find the largest collection of old fire engines and attributes in the Netherlands. At the Crystal Museum, you will see crystals, minerals, gemstones and fossils and learn the history behind them. Also in Borculo flows the river Berkel, which you will cycle over and along several times. Near Ruurlo, you can visit the castle of the same name, Kasteel Ruurlo.
