Enjoying meadow birds in Arkemheen
Spakenburg, Nijkerk
Between Spakenburg and Nijkerk lies the Arkemheen polder, one of the oldest (14th century) and best-preserved polders in our country. And a meadow bird area par excellence! The cycle path across the dike is one long dismount. All around you are birds. In the meadows of the polder, on the water and on the banks of the Nijkerkernauw. From April to November, this cycle route becomes extra fun: then the bike boat sails from the pretty harbour of Spakenburg to Flevoland. You can extend the route by taking the boat and cycling a bit over the dike along the Hulkesteinse Bos. Have a great bike ride!
