This cycle route takes you through the rural area in the north-east of the Achterhoek region. The Achterhoek is versatile and you notice that immediately. The scenic landscape is surprisingly beautiful and is interspersed with charming towns. Eibergen is one of those cosy villages where you should definitely stop by the Berkel River, where there is always something to do. You also cycle through the historic fortified town of Groenlo, where you can literally take a look into history in the dungeons under the town hall. And of course, you cannot leave this town, where Grolsch originated, before you have tasted the famous pilsner. On the way, you will also get the chance to cross the border. Add the Zwillbrocker Venn to your route and who knows, you might just bump into a flamingo!
