Bird's-eye cycling route along the Frisian IJsselmeer coast

"Forests and polders on one side, water and panoramic views on the other side. And all around you: birds! On this route your eyes and ears are short. You cycle close to the IJsselmeer coast and through the rolling landscape of the beautiful Frisian Gaasterland. The route passes two areas where Vogelbescherming and It Fryske Gea are working hard for nature: the bay of Tacozijl and De Mokkebank. In addition to the construction of nature-friendly banks, these areas are also used as nurseries for young fish. Good for the fish stock and good for the fish-eating birds. Enjoy the diving flights of the elegant common terns and search the air for flying ospreys. Binoculars with you!"
