Cycle route along the river Donge

The Donge is a unique stream in the Netherlands because of its special characteristics. Unlike other rivers and streams, the Donge is not fed by a clearly identifiable source, but by a large area of groundwater and rainwater. The stream is an important water source for the area. This cycle route takes you along the northern part of the Donge. Swing along along the Brabant countryside a scenic cycle route that passes several picturesque villages, such as 's Gravenmoer and Waspik, where many old buildings are still preserved. In a number of places, you will see the influence of the river Donge on the land. Get off at fruit orchard Lisboa, for example. Thanks to the fertile creek soil, different types of fruit can be grown here in an entirely organic and natural way. Besides the historical sights, the villages also have many cosy cafés, restaurants and shops that make the cycle route even more enjoyable.
