Cycling route Limburg noble castles and mountains (part 1)
Maastricht, Gronsveld, Eijsden
This cycle route takes you to the Dellen nature reserve. This is a varied nature reserve on the banks of the Geul which you cross to Houthem where you can visit Landgoed Sint Gerlach. The route continues towards Valkenburg, known for its caves and cosy centre. Located in the valley, Schin op Geul is popular with cyclists in addition to being a great base for walking routes. Arriving in Gulpen a little further, you spot the Gulpenerberg, the Beversberg and the Dolsberg. Seen from Maastricht, the rural area around Cadier en Keer is the entrance to the South Limburg Hill Country. This gives a beautiful panorama of Maastricht and the Maas valley. In Eijsden, you will encounter many fruit orchards. Apples and pears, in particular, are grown here. A beautiful sight in spring when the pale pink and white blossoms bloom. A beautiful and varied cycle tour where you can literally and figuratively taste the charm of Limburg!
