Liberation route | Death Valley De Peel
Asten, Neerkant, Heusden
The Liberation Routes Brabant are eight cycle routes, spread throughout the province, that take you along the stories of World War II and the Liberation. This cycle route leads you through Death Valley, or De Peel.
Impressive stories of courage and hardship come to life on this fascinating cycle route through De Peel. Cycle through the area that served as a haven for shot-down Allied airmen. The Peel was therefore given the sinister nickname 'Death Valley'.
The route also includes the museum farm where an English field marshal stayed. You pass a castle that was even fought over after the liberation and learn more about the defences of both the Dutch and German armies.
An impressive journey of discovery through the beautiful Brabant countryside.
