Historical eye catchers
Vorden, Zutphen, Almen
This impressive cycle route takes you past the many historical eye-catchers of this, already beautiful, area. A route full of country houses, castles, monuments and museums to get off your bike for a while.
Start your route at the tourist interchange in Zutphen? Then you can park your car here if you wish. In this historic town, there are already a number of special sights to stop for. A chain library from the 16th century, the 14th century Broederenkerk and Zutphen's Old Town Hall, for example.
The tour continues towards Bronckhorst, where you can take a look at the chapel and castle ruins. Part of Bronkhorst is a national protected sight and the town has no less than 38 national monuments.
After Bronkhorst, you head for Vorden, where the castle awaits you. Via the sheep flock, Almen and the Bakkersmuseum, you return to Zutphen after a wonderful round of Gelderland's history.
