Food cycle route | East Langstraat
Heusden, Drunen, Waalwijk
Get on your bike and take a culinary journey through Brabant's Burgundian food culture. This cycle route takes you through the area of the eastern Langstraat. The Langstraat is known as the garden of Brabant.
You pass through the beautiful historic fortified town of Heusden, pretty villages such as Nieuwkuijk, Drunen and Waalwijk and the vast farmlands and nature reserves in between.
Along the way, you will encounter plenty of tasty stepping-stones, where products are produced in a sustainable way. How about real farmhouse dairy made from daily fresh milk from your own cows, unique wines from Wijndomein Woutherushof, or scoop ice cream and bread made according to an artisanal recipe? At Stadsbrouwerij Sint Crispijn, traditional beer is brewed in a modern way. You will also stop at food bank De Rijglaars, which sustainably puts together food parcels for the less fortunate.
At all these stopping points, you will find a QR code. Scan the code for a video with a look behind the scenes and tips on how you can prevent food waste.
Besides this eastern route, there is also a western route.
