Ferry route near Bronkhorst
Bronkhorst, Brummen, Dieren
The watery surroundings of the medieval town of Bronkhorst invites you to go for a lovely bicycle ride. Bronkhorst is located at a stone's throw from the IJssel river and before you know it, you are already on the first ferry. The other side of the water is at least as beautiful. You cycle along country estates with beautiful nature and country houses where history speaks to you.
At Dieren, we take the ferry again to cross the IJssel to Olburgen, back into the Achterhoek.
The area between Olburgen and Bronkhorst has a rich past. As you cycle over the dyke along the forelands, you learn more and more about this history. The information boards that you come across here tell you more about the former brickworks, the IJssel Line, the Roman army base that was located here and the chapel that once stood here. Can you imagine?
Tip: take cash with you for the ferries along the way.
