E-chopper route through forest and heathland
Ede, Otterlo, Lunteren
The peaceful area through which this cycle route travels was the stark backdrop of combat operations in the Second World War. Traces of this can be found in and around Ede: for example, stop off at the Airborne Memorial on the Ginkel Heath. Also in Ede, you will find Kernhem House, a place where young artists are given the opportunity to exhibit.
In the village of Otterlo is one of the entrances to National Park 'De Hoge Veluwe', which you can use to extend the route (after paying the entrance fee). The route also takes you through Lunteren, which the inhabitants themselves regard as a close-knit village. A little outside Lunteren you will pass watchtower De Koepel, definitely worth a visit.
This route is fun to cycle, but even more fun to ride with the E-chopper! You can rent them at Restaria Favoriet in Harskamp.
