E-chopper route to the Linge
Herwijnen, Beesd, Asperen
Get on your bike and explore the area between the rivers Waal and Linge. This route starts along the imposing Waal, where you will enjoy wide views and the rippling water. Then you cycle through the quiet polder with vast meadows, grazing cows and picturesque farms. After the polder, you come to the Linge, the longest river flowing entirely in the Netherlands. The Linge winds through the green landscape, past flowering orchards in spring and full of fruit in summer. This river offers a peaceful contrast to the wide Waal. Along the way, there are two special places to visit: the Geofort, where you can learn all about maps and navigation, and Molen de Vrijheid, a historic windmill that is still turning. Here you can enjoy the view and a piece of history. In short, a day full of discovery and fun for any cycling enthusiast.
