This route between Ravenstein and Megen connects several fascinating historical highlights, giving you a unique insight into the region's rich history. From the imposing Vesting Ravenstein, cycle to the charming Fortified Town of Megen, where you can explore the impressive Gevangenpoort. Don't forget to visit the Museum Stoomgemaal De Tuut, where you will learn more about the reclamation of the polders. On the way, you will also pass the centuries-old Kasteelruïne Batenburg, where you will be taken back to days gone by. Two replica cannons can still be found in the vicinity of the castle ruins. The replicas date back to 1667 and were fully restored as recently as 2016. Stop for a moment at the Monument Onderstel Stirling and commemorate the brave crew of a crashed plane from World War II. The Philips van Kleefbolwerck has a special story and also offers great views over the landscape. During the route, you cross the Meuse River twice and traverse the provinces of Gelderland and North Brabant, enjoying the natural beauty of the surroundings.
