Cycling route along the Kattuk coast

"ππ¦π³π’π―π―π¦π₯π¦π¦π³π₯ π΅π³π°πΆπΈπ¦!" or, "Guaranteed enjoyment!" in Kattuks fashion. Kattuks is the dialect of Katwijk aan Zee. Katwijk has been inhabited since the early Middle Ages. Yet it did not grow into a large city center because in 860 the estuary became blocked. The growth of the settlement stagnated but in the later Middle Ages it grew slightly again. Because of its practical location on Sea and Rhine, fishing and fish market was of great importance. Philosopher Spinoza wrote his most famous work here between 1661 and 1663, the Ethics. You cycle along the North Sea, where you pedal through dunes as well as along the beautiful beaches. In the summer, people bask in the sun and the sun glistens beautifully in the water but also in other seasons this area is a feast for the eyes. The fishing village is surrounded by green walking and cycling routes, because the dunes are protected nature reserve, this is not disturbed by construction or traffic. During your cycling route through Noordwijk towards Nieuw-Vennep you will find yourself in the polder landscape close to the coast. With a bit of luck there are countless flower bulbs blooming in this area and you cycle through an oasis of colors. The route takes you past several fun and interesting stopping points, such as Molen De Geregtigheid from 1740, which is still in use. Or the RuΓ―ne Teylingen, impressive remains of a castle which was already described in 1143. Check out the stepping stones, add them to your route and discover them for yourself!
