Brabant is home to a wealth of sagas and legends. This cycle route takes you on an adventurous trip through the Brabant village of Eersel, where two hundred years ago a cursed squire lived... The inhabitants of Eersel did not have much money back then. Despite the poverty, they were happy and content, except for the squire. He was lonely and had no family or friends. He had only one goal in mind: to become rich. His greed was punished harshly: a curse was put on him. Since then, locals saw a burning ghostly apparition popping up all over the area: the Glowy One. Once the Gloeiige was the stately squire of Eersel, now he leaves his mark everywhere, like blackened footprints that you can still find everywhere. Friends and family in the Kempen used to like to gather in the evenings to tell each other scary stories.
