Discover the surroundings of Balkbrug and Dedemsvaart by bicycle with the whole family! With this cycle route, you will do just fine. Cycle along the beautiful nature stream the Reest. During the route you will cross it twice. You will ride along many meadows, farms and roads with high trees. Are you coming along? Soon you will see visitor centre De Wheem. Discover nature here in the badger sett and with the Bas the Badger path. Or do you dare to take the exciting Speelnatuurpad? Just outside De Wheem, you cross the Reest and enter a wonderful nature area with woods and heathland. Get off your bike here and see for yourself how vast nature is from the Takkenhoogte lookout hill. If you cycle a little further, you might even encounter Highland cattle... We cycle towards the Reest again when we have to follow the main road for a short distance. Fortunately, not for too long, because we quickly find the quiet countryside. Tip from us: Cycle from junction 18 to junction 26 in Dedemsvaart. There, you are a lot more pit stops to enjoy! For example, visit the animals at DeKibo petting zoo or search for the centre at the labyrinth. Oh, and don't forget your swimming gear on a hot day! At the Kotermeer you can swim and play.
