Cycle route from the New Meuse to the Old Meuse
Rotterdam, Barendrecht
The New and Old Meuse rivers flow somewhat parallel to each other. Between these two rivers are a number of towns, such as Rotterdam and Barendrecht. This cycle route takes you along the water, through the harbours and takes you into the city and nature. Start your cycle route at the Merwe, as the New Meuse used to be called. The route takes you directly south. The dicther you get to the Old Meuse, the greener it gets. The nature surrounding the Old Meuse invites you to get off your bike for a while. Admire the landscape from the viewpoint and enjoy the unique landscape of the Rhoonse and Carnisse Grienden. Get back on your bike and cycle back to Rotterdam. You will discover the port and the Feijenoord district. We have added some highlights to the route, but also keep looking around you. The architectural buildings and imposing bridges are special to see.
