If you pay attention, you will encounter a castle several times along the way. The castles all have their own history, stories and mysteries, which you can unravel during this cycle route. Some castles are still inhabited and even a princess still lives in Castle Drakensteyn. Estate Eyckenstein is beautiful and free to visit. Get off your bike and walk along the three-hundred-year-old oak trees. Can you imagine if you and your family lived on such a large estate? Also, don't be afraid to deviate from the cycle route and go deeper into the forest along the way. You might find another hidden castle or a special place to get off for a nice lunch.
