Small cycle route, big enjoyment
Amerongen, Leersum, Overberg
This short route of about 24 kilometres takes you through the most beautiful parts of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. How about the ancient forests near Amerongse Berg, for example? Get off here every now and then to stretch your legs. You'll also cycle along the outer edges of the towns of Leersum and Amerongen. The name Leersum used to be written as Laresheim, which freely translated means 'dwelling place in the woods'. Amerongen is best known for Amerongen Castle, a 13th-century beautiful castle and worth a visit. As the route is not very long, you will have plenty of time in between to discover the beautiful nature even better. Have fun on this short but well-filled cycle route across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
