Nationaal Park de Sallandse Heuvelrug is one of the largest contiguous heathlands in Europe, with rolling hills where you can wander and explore endlessly. Enjoy the view from the Holterberg and admire the fairytale Palthetoren from the Sprengenberg. Cycle through the woods to Hellendoorn and discover the old crafts of the chocolatier, pastry chef and ice cream maker. In the observatory, you can look through the telescopes yourself, but the starry sky is breathtaking even with the naked eye! At the edge of the Sallandse Heuvelrug, there is little light pollution, so on a clear evening you can sometimes see up to 2000 stars, even without a telescope. With the beautiful nature and impressive sights, getting lost in Salland is not a punishment at all!
