Bûten boartsje yn Fryslân, or playing outside in Friesland. This cycle route takes you through the Frisian countryside and beautiful nature areas. Cycle through the unique neighbourhood pattern of the quirky ‘Kompenijsters’ in Jubbega, where you can admire the majestic ‘Poppebeam’. People used to claim that babies grew out of the tree here. Just beware! Interrupt your cycle route for a relaxing walk through the Delleboersterheide and Diakonievene nature reserves. Count all 43 species of dragonflies at the Catspoele and listen if you can hear big cats roaring at Felida, near Egypt by the way. After the bûten boartsje you should be able to have a nice ite and drink and that can be poerbêst along the way. Parking is easy at the Diakonievene.
