Grab your bike and taste, experience and discover the Pearl on the Vliet. In the middle of the nineteenth century, Voorschoten changed from a rural village to a modern village with a special factory: The Silver Factory. Pit stops along the way will teach you more about Voorschoten's silver past. You will of course pass the former Silver Factory, but also the last remaining original service house at De Inktpot. The Ambachts- en Baljuwhuis also played an important role. At Duivenvoorde Castle and Museum Voorschoten, you can admire a collection of silver objects. Explore the beautiful parks, grab a terrace on the Voorstraat and walk through the castle gardens of Kasteel Duivenvoorde. The information boards in Voorschoten give you more information about the historical sites in the village centre and on the cycle route. Want to extend your route? From junction 77, you can follow junctions 9, 16, 70 and 11 to reach the city of Leiden. You then follow the route to the city centre via a scenic road along the canal. Junction 11 is on Leiden's Singel.
