Whether Lunteren is actually the geographical centre of the Netherlands remains a subject of debate. For decades, the exact location has been debated. Yet there are several indications that suggest Lunteren could indeed be this centre point. In the Luntersche Buurtbosch, on the Lindeboomseberg, there has been a boulder with the inscription ‘Centre of the Netherlands’ since 1956. Here, you can not only take a photo with this historic stone, but also enjoy the beautiful view over Barneveld and the vast Gelderse Valley. This cycle route leads you not only through Lunteren, but also through lively Barneveld. Barneveld is known for its long history of poultry farming. A visit to the Poultry Museum will give you a unique insight into how this tradition originated and developed over the years. You will also cycle through the versatile Ede, a place that should definitely not be missed on this route. Ede offers a surprising mix of nature and culture, which you can enjoy along the way. During this route, you will discover the heart of the Netherlands in a special way, with every kilometre telling a new story.
