Cycle route World Heritage in South Holland

The skyline of the port city is full of modern architecture, but you will also encounter Rotterdam's first World Heritage Site: the Van Nelle Factory. Although it was built in 1923, it still has a modern feel. Where factories used to be gloomy and dark spaces, this factory is called 'a poem in glass and steel'. Today, it is a unique venue for meetings. The other world heritage site that you cycle to today will take you back centuries. From the busy centre of Rotterdam, it brings you peace and quiet. It is the windmills in Kinderdijk. Not just nostalgia, but robust structures that made it possible for you to cycle here instead of swimming. This cycle route takes you from modern architecture and design to monumental sights and back. When you have finished the hundred kilometres, you will know this region like no other! Our tip: make a weekend of it and stay halfway through the cycle route in Rotterdam for an optimal cycling route experience! If you first travel by car, there is ample parking at TOP Alblasserdam near junction 01.
