During this Cycle route, you can enjoy cycling in and around the vibrant city of Breda. This city aims to be the most hospitable city in Europe by 2030, and as you will notice, they are already well on their way. The historic city centre is a lovely place where you could spend all day wandering around and we recommend you definitely do so. But not all day. Because we also like to take you to Breda's hinterland. Here you will find beautiful forests, heathland, historic villages and special Pit stops. For example, visit the beautiful nature reserve de Pannenhoef along the Turfvaart canal. You can spot many species of birds here, such as a buzzard, green woodpecker, goldcrest or a great mute swan. At the edge of the Mastbos you will find an imposing castle. Sometime in the 15th century, the castle must have been built. The first documents only mention a stone house surrounded by water. The gardens of this castle are open to visitors. So worth a stop. Get on your bike, Breda and its surroundings never get bored!
