Every spring, this region transforms into a colourful spectacle, with endless fields full of flowering bulbs, a beautiful sight you don't want to miss. This floral splendour is a major pillar of local prosperity, especially in places like Noordwijk, which owes its wealth in part to flower bulb cultivation. Often called 'the heart of the bulb region', Noordwijkerhout flaunts the largest area of bulb fields in the area and also happens to be in the middle of this cycle route. Another well-known spot is Lisse, mainly because of Keukenhof, a flower park that attracts almost a million visitors from all over the world every year. This flower-filled cycle route offers not only a visual feast, but also a chance to enjoy local delicacies. If you want to take a break and recharge your energy, it is an excellent idea to take a break at Bourgondie in Warmond or restaurant U Górala in Noordwijkerhout. The latter eatery not only offers delicious meals, but is also right next to a fascinating vintage car museum. Near the museum, you cross the Piet Gijzen Bridge, named after a local innkeeper Piet Gijs. The beautiful old building now houses a restaurant. As you cycle through this idyllic region, where every bend offers a new, breathtaking view, you will discover that this route is more than just a physical journey.
