Cycle route over bridges
Denekamp, Lattrop, Ootmarsum
The Geele beek, the Dinkel, the Hollandergraven, the Almelo-Nordholn canal, the Bijdinkel, the Omleidingskanaal: you will cross all these brooks, rivers and canals at least once. In the meantime, you can enjoy the scenic landscape of Twente. The route takes you to the picturesque Ootmarsum with its many half-timbered houses. It is nice to cycle on to the Smithuisstraat. There you will find an analemmatic sundial; a sundial that only indicates time if you stand in it yourself. In Denekamp, enjoy the view of the Singraven country estate. At set times, you can take a guided tour of the house, the arboretum or the watermill, where wood is still cut. The Schuivenhuisje in Tilligte is now a national monument. It was built in 1887 to provide the river Dinkel with a good water flow. This is an opportunity not to be missed on this cycle route. The route even takes you a little way across the German border via the wide open fields. Enjoy the peace, space, cosy villages and beautiful nature.
