The special fortified town of Heusden is more than worth a walk. You can taste the history throughout the city. The monuments have been beautifully preserved, making it one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Northwest Europe. See the many sights, such as the Town Hall and the Governor's Mansion.
Between the historical and cosy city centres of Den Bosch and Heusden, you drive through beautiful nature areas. De Moerputten is a Natura 2000 area and is one of the few remaining low moors south of the major rivers. You will also encounter the famous Loonse and Drunense Dunes along the way. Nature here consists of woods, heaths and natural sand. It is one of the largest shifting sands areas in Western Europe. It has been a protected area since 1921, allowing nature to take its own course. Enjoy the result of nature's freedom along the way!
