This cycle route takes you through Sneek and the Lege Geaën, which is Frisian for "Lowlands. The area is so called because it lies a lot lower than the land around it. Characteristic of this region are the many small villages and how water-rich the area is. The waters and the polders are real attractions for many different species of birds.
