Sneek, Jirnsum, Scharnegoutum

This Cycle route takes you through Sneek and the Lege Geaën, which is Frisian for ‘Lowlands’. The area is so called because it lies a lot lower than the surrounding land. Characteristic of this region are the many small villages and how water-rich the area is. The waters and the polders are real attractions for many different types of birds. So enjoy the peace and space!

The Skippers of the Kamerleon, who doesn't know them? Many films by this duo have been shot in this area. In Kameleondorp, you can join a bood pushed by the Chameleon and the guides (citizens of Lenten), will tell you all about the village, the area and of course the Skippers of the Chameleon. Also fun for children, who can help constable Black solve his problem along the way.

The route also takes you through Sneek. This beautiful historic town is definitely worth a visit, with for instance the unique Waterpoort and the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum as highlights.
