Explore the harbour of Stellendam, the Fortress of Hellevoetsluis, National Park Kwade Hoek and many more beautiful spots.
During your route, you will pass Stellendam harbour, a lively place where fishing boats sail in and out and you can enjoy the salty sea air. Over the Haringvlietdam, with breathtaking views, cycle towards the Fortress of Hellevoetsluis, a historic site that used to serve as a naval base. The fortress consists of several buildings and forts, feast your eyes as you imagine what it must have been like here in the past.
After visiting the Hellevoetsluis Fortress, cycle back over the dam towards Ouddorp. The Haringvliet Dam is more than just a dam. In fact, this dam contains a road and large locks, serving as an important protection against the water. After the dam, you drive along the coast and come close to National Park Kwade Hoek, among other places. This park is a real must-see and is best known for its rugged dunes, rough vegetation and beautiful beaches. You can spend hours here walking, cycling or just enjoying the view over the sea. Standing here is like being at the end of the world. You can spot many different birds here and, with a bit of luck, you may even spot a seal swimming or sunbathing.
