A varied cycle route that takes you along the water of the Veluwe Lake, through a charming Hanseatic city and of course through the woods. A wonderful route to cycle in radiant weather because you will be cooled by the water or by the shade of the trees. To make the route complete, we have also added some special sights.
Cycling along the Veluwe Lake is a feast for the eyes. The colors in the water range from deep blue to bright green and sparkle in the light of the sun. In this region you will find several Hanseatic cities. These were places that had a free trade privilege, without additional taxes they could trade freely. For this trade, the Veluwe Lake was an important connection between the cities. During this route you will cycle past the Hanseatic city of Elburg.
Furthermore, you cycle through Nunspeet and Epe. These are two charming towns in the province of Gelderland, located on the edge of the Veluwe. You can explore the beautiful forests in this area, you might even encounter wild animals! In Epe and Nunspeet you will come across nice stores and restaurants, making your cycle route a real day out.
