Cycle route through two national parks
Spier, Diever, Hoogersmilde
In south-western Drenthe lies a special nature reserve: National Park Dwingelderveld. In this National Park, visitors can still enjoy an endless, undisturbed horizon. On the border of southwest Drenthe and southeast Friesland lies another special area. The Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. But that's not all: the Drents-Friese Wold is one of the most beautiful and important nature areas of Europe and has therefore been designated a Natura 2000 area!
Enjoy the incomparable nature while cycling. Along the way, you will come across all kinds of great places to stop, such as the sheepfold in Lhee and a lookout tower over the Aekingerzand. Of course, you will come across a dolmen along the way, but the more modern radio telescope in Dwingeloo is also a special attraction.
