Cycle route through noble forests
Nistelrode, Zeeland, Uden
Cycle through the beautiful nature of the Maashorst, be surprised by the forests and get to know a number of Brabant villages.
The village of Nistelrode belonged to the Duchy of Brabant as part of the Meijerij van 's Hertogenbosch from the end of the 13th century. However, the village is much older; it was already mentioned in the 12th century as property of the Berne Abbey.
Zeeland was first part of the domain of Uden, but from 1324 it was part of the Land of Ravenstein that was under the control of the Lords of Valkenburg. Uden was also part of the Land of Ravenstein, which, after a childless marriage and a lot of fighting in the Gulik-Cleve Succession War, eventually became the property of the German principality of Palatinate-Neuburg.
Alternate the villages for nature and enjoy the special noble forests!
