Cycle route through Midden-Delfland
Maassluis, Schipluiden, 't Woudt
Midden-Delfland lies in the heart of South Holland, like a green oasis between the hustle and bustle of surrounding cities such as Rotterdam, Delft and The Hague. The municipality is distinguished by its vast polder landscapes, picturesque villages and rich agricultural traditions. It is the Netherlands' first Special Provincial Landscape, which means it is a unique and protected area.
Midden-Delfland is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The meandering rivers, historic farms and picturesque vistas make your trip here especially beautiful. You taste the tranquillity of the countryside and experience the charm of the region, where sustainability and heritage conservation are key.
You will get to know the smallest village in the Netherlands: ‘t Woudt. When this cycle route was created, there were 38 people living in this picturesque church village, to be exact.
Midden-Delfland is also the first Cittaslow municipality in the Netherlands. Cittaslow is an international quality mark for municipalities that have, among other things, human pace, an eye for the environment and hospitality as important core values. That's a good thing on this cycle route!
