Cycle route over the bridge and by ferry

Hattem, Windesheim, Wapenveld
‘Thinking of Holland, I see broad rivers moving slowly through endless lowlands’, wrote Hendrik Marsman during one of his trips abroad. We don't know if he was thinking of the IJssel when he wrote it, but it could well be. For much of this route, you have this border river in your sights, meandering through the landscape between Overijssel and Gelderland.
The route also takes you past Hattem, where time seems to have stood still in the historic centre. It is no wonder that a number of museums can be found here in particular, including the Voerman Museum Hattem.
Want to shorten the cycle route or go on foot? Then cross the IJssel by ferry at junction 18 or 59 for one euro. The ferry sails from the end of April to the end of October.
Note: Check ferry sailing times in advance to avoid disappointment.
