Cycle route nature near Mantinge
Mantinge, Beilen, Westerbork
Drenthe is always a beautiful place and you will discover this during this cycling route without a doubt. You will cycle through three nature reserves. The Mantingerveld used to consist of small parts of nature, which are now connected because Natuurmonumenten has purchased the land. It is an area where special flora and fauna can be found. You don't really cycle through here, but if you get off between junctions 60 and 61 at the parking lot of Natuurmonumenten it is worthwhile to walk through the area. In the vicinity of junction 62, Natuurmonumenten converts former agricultural lands in such a way that there is a good connection with the other nature reserves. There are cattle grids so that the cattle can move freely from one area to another. Look between the junctions 27 and 64 on the inner field to the country fences with their beautiful names. On the Hiemstrastate estate spring herb and wood sorrel flowers in the spring, but it has something beautiful to offer in every season. Mantingerbos is one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands. Would you like to see deer? Here you have a good chance that that will succeed. East of Oosterhesselen you will come across De Klencke estate with a varied landscape.
