Cycle route Loevestein Palace-Ammersoyen Castle

Loevestein Castle and Ammersoyen Castle are the highlights of this cycle route. They form part of the official national castle storyline. The museum at Loevestein Castle features a collection from the middle ages and the New Dutch Waterline. Ammersoyen Castle boats one of the best kept medieval moated castle in the country. The route conveniently starts and finishes at the car park at Loevestein Castle.
The route leads through Rivierenland, a region ideal for cycling. You pass age-old dikes and picturesque villages while enjoying views over the surrounding typically Dutch landscape. En route, you see Brakel Estate where you can find the ruins of Brakel Castle. At Loevestein Castle you can stop to have coffees or lunch at the tavern. From here you can take the ferry to Woudrichem fortress, have a lovely stroll around or have something to eat and drink.
