Cycle route Innovation in Eindhoven
Eindhoven
For those who want something different this is a wonderful route to discover how innovative Eindhoven is. It is of course the birthplace of Philips. You can still see where the first light bulb was made. The company has since grown into a global concern. But the Van Doorne's Automobiel Fabriek, better known as DAF, also started here. The Evoluon educational technology museum has now closed its doors, although the spectacular building is still used as a conference center. The Objet Electronique sculpture by the famous architect Le Corbusier is on the campus of the Technical University. Also discover the city center of Eindhoven. You can park your bicycle under De Blob, a futuristic building which shows why Eindhoven calls itself an innovative city. And otherwise you will discover it at the Van Abbemuseum for modern and contemporary art.
