Cycle route in the backyard of Putten
Putten, Garderen, Drie
Beautiful, centuries-old Putten lies between heathland, forests and polders. This cycle route leads you through the woods on the eastern side of the village and a slice of the farm landscape. You will get to know the outskirts of Putten and its rich history through the surprising variety of dismounting moments.
Along the way, you will also get to know the cosy village of Garderen, on the edge of the Speulder forest. We leave Garderen via the oldest part of the Veluwe forests, with majestic bent beech trees. The cycle path takes you to Drie, a tiny village entirely surrounded by woods. Drie consists of lots of trees and just a few houses and a catering establishment.
On the way back to Wells, you pass the Solse Gat, where it is said to be haunted. The choice is yours do you get off or cycle on?
You can park your car at the car park on Sprielderweg near junction 97 to start this impressive route there.
