Zeewolde, the Stille Kern

Zeewolde has only been an independent municipality since 1984. Back then, people didn't even live in the village. Meanwhile, it is one of the larger villages in the province of Flevoland and still developing. Not only in terms of inhabitants, but also in terms of recreational opportunities and natural areas. Follow the beautiful cycle paths along spacious forests and get to know the vast De Stille Kern nature reserve. Along the way, park your bike for fantastic views at vantage points. The area is very rich in birds, but did you know that large mammals also live in the forest? Deer, foxes and even fallow deer know their way around. In the forest, you'll also find a play forest. Ideal if you cycle this route with the whole family. Let the children climb, scramble, build huts and meet the gnomes, while you take a rest on a picnic bench.
