Cycle route from river valley to sandy soil
Boxtel, Vught, Den Dungen
Boxtel is located in the middle of Den Bosch, Tilburg and Eindhoven. The cycle route runs right through this town, which lies in the valley of the Dommel and Smalwater rivers. As you cycle towards the north you will encounter a number of estates, such as Zegenwerp, Zegenoode and the Wilhelminapark.
Along the way you will also pass Castle Nemerlaer. Then the cycle route continues through Vught. The nature there lies at a transition area of low-lying river area and sandy soil. Therefore you cycle through a very varied landscape of heathland, forests, fens and polders. In between you cycle through or past the smaller towns of Sint-Michielsgestel and Den Dungen.
Furthermore, you cycle past Museum 't Brabants Leven. Here you will experience the typical Brabant culture and traditions. Maurick Castle is an impressive castle which was built in 1464. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Enjoy the tranquility and the view of the water.
Nature Gate Nemerlaer is a beautiful nature reserve which becomes an oasis of green in the spring. Look around, see what birds are flying around you and hear the murmur through the trees.
