Dwingeloo, Diever, Appelscha
Below Appelscha lies a special nature reserve: the Aekingerbroek. It is a sopping wet marsh area fed by the Vledder Aa. It is a varied area with small oak forests. From the Bosberg tower you have beautiful views of the area. In the Aekingerbroek is also the Canada Lake, also called the Aekingermeer. The lake is eagerly used by holidaymakers, but care is needed: in some places it is 30 metres deep and therefore freezing cold!
On the way to the village of Diever and Dwingeloo, you pass the beautiful nature of Hoekenbrink, which you cross via the other side on the way back to Appelscha. So you have the best nature experience on one route!
