There are many adventures to be had in the Hellendoorn woods. Get on your bike and head out!

On the edge of the Sallandse Heuvelrug, you pass Erve De Pas. In this information barn, you can get more information about the area. Did you know, for instance, that a wolf has been spotted in this area? Or search for foxes with the treasure hunt for Viggo the Fox on Sprengenberg. In the OERRR play forest, you can build cool huts, climb any tree and mess around with mud. Utterly delicious!

We continue through the woods and across the heathland. Take a good look around you; you might spot a rabbit, fox or deer! Get off at Buitencentrum Sallandse Heuvelrug in Nijverdal and extend your voyage of discovery further into the universe. The Outdoor Centre is home to a genuine observatory and with so much nature around you, it is very dark at night. On a clear night, you can sometimes see as many as 2,000 stars with the naked eye alone! Every Friday evening and Saturday afternoon you can look through the telescopes.

But there is more... At the Outdoor Centre you can also explore under the ground. If you walk (well, walk...) along the Speelbospad, you will scramble along all kinds of holes, gullies and slopes and you can take a look inside a badger sett. At the end of your journey, you will arrive at Avonturenpark Hellendoorn. If you dare to venture into the roller coaster, this is the place to be.

After this expedition through Hellendoorn and Nijverdal, you will return home tired but satisfied. You have discovered a whole new world, and the world has gained a new explorer!
