Cycle route back and forth for special beer
Garderen, Staverden, Ermelo
Cycle back and forth for a special beer. From Garderen, cycle to Elspeet. In this Christian village you'll find the first Mill De Hoop. Should you cycle the route on a Saturday, the miller will be happy to tell you all about this working mill. But you can also find a spot on the sunny terrace of Restaurant Op de Brink for your first special beer.
Continue your route towards Staverden. This smallest town in the Benelux is home to the beautiful Staverden Castle and its estate. The surroundings invite you to stroll through the woods and gardens. Beer brewery De Uddelaer is part of the estate. Nine different beers are brewed here, with great care. The brewery is currently closed, but keep an eye on the website to see if you can break your bike ride on the terrace for a nice special beer here too.
On the way back, you'll pass the Schaapskooi in Ermelo and the second Mill De Hoop, before cycling back into the village of Garderen via the forest. The advantage of this not-too-long cycle route: there is plenty of time left to see De Beeldentuin. Besides the sculptures in De Beeldentuin, there is also a lunchroom and a Sand Sculpture Festival. The sand sculptures have a new theme every year, so plenty to discover!
