The Overijsselse Vecht is a 167-kilometer long rain river, which flows more than 60 kilometers through the Netherlands before turning to Germany. The Black Water is a bit shorter: it is only 19 kilometers long. The Black Water is the result of the merger of the Soestwetering and the Nieuwe Wetering. The Wijde Aa was created by sand extraction for the Aa-countries district, the Westerveldse Kolk is connected to the Zwarte Water.
