Bicycle route with hidden spots in Zeeland

Breskens, Sluis, Aardenburg, Oostburg
This cycle route takes you through the varied landscape of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. You will cycle along the North Sea coast, where you can smell the fresh sea air and enjoy the view of the sea. You will also pass through Waterdunen, a nature reserve where the landscape is constantly changing with the tides. At the Verdronken Zwarte Polder (Drowned Black Polder) you can see how the sea once swallowed up the land here. Now it is a quiet area with mud flats and salt marshes where many birds can be found.
In addition to nature, you will pass through small Zeeland villages with cosy squares and narrow streets. Here you can sit at an outdoor café or take a stroll to soak up the atmosphere. You will also get a good view of the Westerschelde along the way. The enormous seagoing ships that sail past here form a stark contrast with the peaceful polders and dunes through which you will be cycling.
This route offers more than just beautiful views. Along the way you will pass places you might not immediately expect: from historic windmills to faraway vistas.
