Beer cycle route from Arnhem to Wageningen
Arnhem, Renkum, Wageningen
Attention beer lovers! This cycle route through beautiful forests, farmlands and river landscapes takes you to points with the tastiest home-brewed beers. In Arnhem you will taste the own beer of Stadscafé CASPAR. They use nothing but the purest beer ingredients: water, grains, hops and yeast. No fuss, but beer as it is meant to be. From Arnhem, you cycle through nature to City brewery Wageningen. Here too, the beer is brewed with local ingredients. Since 2013, this results in beautiful, tasteful beers. Nice to know: near junction 35 and junction 61 you pass the grain fields where the City brewery grows its grain.
Enjoy beautiful landscapes and historical landmarks along the way, such as the castles of Grunsfoort and Doorwerth. But also the medieval Historic Cellars are interesting to visit.
Want to take a beer home? Then browse around in De Hoppenaar, a specialty beer shop in Arnhem with shelves full of international and local beers.
Tip: if you want to shorten the route along the way, the best place to do so is near Renkum. Cycle from junction 87 via 10 to 08 (or the other way round). If you are cycling from Arnhem, the route becomes 34 km with this shortcut. If you cycle from Wageningen and choose this alternative route, your route will be 23 km.
