Pay a visit to the Stadhuismuseum in Zierikzee. The name of the museum comes from the building in which it is housed, which used to be the town hall of Zierikzee. The museum regularly presents temporary exhibitions that show you everything you need to know about Zierikzee's past.
After your visit to the museum, enjoy a cup of coffee with a Zeeuwse bolus in the museum café. Here, you can also hear the tones of the carillon in the 42-metre-high town hall tower.
Still have some time left? Then visit the Gravensteen, the oldest prison in Zeeland. The name Gravensteen did not come about in a complicated way. It used to be the stone house of the Count. This was the administrative and governmental centre of the Count of Holland, Zeeland and West Friesland. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, a guided tour is given through this old prison. The tour starts at 14.30 from the Town Hall Museum.
